Publications updates

September 2014

This month’s publication update is coming to you from the Sunbelt Ag Expo. Be sure to stop by the UGA College of Ag and Environmental Sciences building and check out the Master Gardener table. They are promoting a hot-off-the-press Extension publication: "Starting Plants From Seed for the Home Gardener."

In addition to this publication (Bulletin 1432 by Sheri Dorn and Bodie Pennisi), this month we also published "Using Cover Crops for the Home Garden" (Circular 1057 by Bob Westerfield), and “Choosing a Landscape Irrigation Contractor” (Circular 1056 by Ellen Bauske, Gary Hawkins, and Todd Hurt).

We have several more new publications in the works that we are hoping to finish as soon as possible. If you have come across a publication that has expired recently, please send the author a gentle nudge so we can get it back online.

I also want to thank everyone who participated in the Print on Demand survey. The results showed that although many have registered for accounts, only a few have ordered. The most common answer for not ordering was not having a need for printed publications. If there is anything I can do to help you brainstorm on what to order, I will do my best. I am working on putting a list together of suggested publications to order. The ones named in this email are a good place to start!

It’s still not too late to register for a print on demand account. Fill out the online form to request an account. To learn more about the printed publications catalog at www.officemaxworkplace.com, visit the OCCS website resource page.
