Introduction to Extension

Lesson Two:
Organizational Structure

Objectives

Extension's organizational structure can be confusing, particularly to new agents. In this lesson you will learn about the organizational structure of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, its support units, and Cooperative Extension. Click on each link below to read about them:

Note: If you haven't already, be sure to bookmark the Extension County Operations page. It is a valuable resource for much information, including some of the content in this course. You will also want to bookmark the CAES Personnel Directory to find information on any college unit or employee.

Quiz

Once you have finished the lesson, please complete the Lession Two Quiz.
The password for all four quizzes is "extension".

Note: All four quizzes (three for non-UGA employees) must be completed to get credit for the course.

Summary

In this lesson, you learned about the college's organizational structure. You also learned more about how extension is organized across the state. Finally, you have been introduced to each department, support unit and program area, and have also learned how to use the Personnel Database to find college personnel across the state.
