Student Activities

On September 6th, Dr. Jason Peake conducted a leadership training for the UGA Tifton Collegiate FFA members at Camp John Hope in Fort Valley, which included a very competitive game of paintball!

UGA Tifton tailgated at two Tift County High football games on September 14th and 21st in order to promote the Academic Programs and sell t-shirts for the Student Ambassadors. There are still a few t-shirts left if anyone would like to purchase one!

The Southwest and Southeast District Recruitment Events were very successful again this year, with approximately 175 potential students and their parents attending. Thanks to the faculty and staff members who helped to make these events great!

Scott an overview of the campus, and Drs. Michael Toews, George Vellidis, Craig Kvien, and Stanley Culpepper gave brief overviews of their research, the significance to the agricultural community, and the importance of access to funding to support research. In addition, Donnie Smith updated the congressman and staff on activities at the Center of Innovation for Agribusiness. WALB News covered the event. Watch the news report.
