Congressman Austin Scott and his entire staff for the 8th Congressional District of Georgia visited the University of Georgia Tifton Campus on Wednesday, Dec. 21.

I shared with the group the economic importance of Georgia agriculture, discussed how the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences supports Georgia agriculture, updated the group on how federal grant funding has supported agricultural research here, and how in turn that contributes to greater and more efficient production of food and fiber for Georgia and the U.S. Congressman Scott commented that agriculture is one of the bright spots in the U. S. and Georgia economies, and how important agriculture is to the future of our country.

UGA Tifton Campus food drive was conducted during the annual Christmas breakfast. A large quantity of food was collected to help those in the community who are less fortunate. Today the food was delivered to the Salvation Army Store here in Tifton.

Note that the large cart was completely filled with items donated by members of the campus.

Thanks for your generosity!
