Congratulations to Tim Brenneman who received the "Outstanding Presentation Award" at the Southeastern Pecan Growers Banquet, Saturday February 26. Thanks, Tim, for keeping the UGA Tifton Campus on the forefront!

Visit from Cong. Austin Scott's district director to my office on Tuesday, March 1. Stone Workman, director for Cong. Scott's office in the 8th Congressional District visited the Tifton Campus to learn more about our activities and contributions. Accompanying Stone were Jackie Watson, Constituent Services Representative, and Alice Johnson, local field representative for Cong. Scott's office. One of the committee appointments held by Cong. Scott is the Agriculture Committee, obviously important for the CAES and Georgia agriculture. We hope to work closely with our entire Georgia delegation, including Cong. Scott to further agriculture in our state.

ABAC Ag Business Club was hosted by Christy Bryan and Amber Dowd (Tifton Campus Academic Programs) on the evening of Tuesday, March 8 to provide information to potential transfers to the new UGA Tifton Campus Agribusiness undergraduate major. This was the first event directed specifically at recruiting for the major, and there was a good showing from the Ag Business Club at ABAC. Following some pizza, the participants learned about the opportunities at the UGA Tifton Campus from our faculty and staff. Special thanks to Christy Bryan for organizing the event.

WTIF radio show schedule: Remember the UGA Tifton Campus radio spot on WTIF radio (107.5 FM) on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of each week at about 9:30 am. You can find the weekly schedule on the UGA Tifton Campus website. Dr. Bob Kemerait was on today discussing ag chemical use and availability, and on Monday you can hear Dr. Curt Lacy discuss livestock marketing.

Speaking of the Tifton Campus website: I hope you will take a moment to visit the website and note the stories as well as upcoming programs and events at the bottom. Please contact Cindy Tucker if you would like to feature any events on the homepage. Thank you, Cindy, for a job well done.

A Farewell Reception for Dr. Glen Ritchie will be held in the NESPAL lobby on Thursday March 17 from 2 – 3:30 pm. Come and enjoy friendship, food and farewells as Glen Ritchie begins a new chapter of his life.
