Ag Awareness held on UGA Tifton Campus:

Over 1300 4th graders came to campus to learn about many aspects of agriculture and our world. Predictions of inclement weather required a rapid adjustment from outdoor demonstrations to indoors at the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center. The last minute move was highly successful and ensured another outstanding Ag Awareness Day. A large number of people contribute to this complex, well-coordinated event. The team is led by Benjie Baldree. Tonia Miller has been a key member of the team and was recognized, as this was her final Ag Awareness before departing UGA. Thanks to the many organizers of the team, and to all the presenters at the event.

Annual UGA Tifton Campus Christmas Breakfast:

Mark December 3 on your calendar for the annual Christmas Breakfast on the UGA Tifton Campus. Plan on coming to breakfast at 8:30am at the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center for a good meal, fellowship and fun.

Utility expenditures for the campus are running well ahead of last year, due largely to the hot summer. I need everyone to please be responsible for their surroundings and adjust thermostats and lighting. We work about 8 hours per day and are not here for 16 hours daily, plus weekends. Please be responsible for your surroundings and turn off lights and other power users when not in use, and adjust thermostats at the end of the work day and on weekends. Lower thermostats to 65°F during off hours and adjust to 72°F during the work day. Because of high power use thus far this year and continuing fiscal challenges, the campus budget needs your help.

UGA Tifton Campus on WTIF Radio:

Beginning next Wednesday, November 17, the UGA Tifton Campus will have time on the morning radio show on WTIF (107.5) with Chris Beckham. Aired between 8:00 and 9:00 am, the UGA Tifton Campus will have a regular spot on the show on alternating Wednesdays, giving campus programs regular exposure to the Tiftarea. I am pleased to have this opportunity to highlight on a regular basis the many exciting things occurring on the UGA Tifton Campus. Thanks to Brad Haire for helping to make this happen. Let Brad know of developments around the campus that may be noteworthy for this program. There will be opportunities for members of the campus to participate in these interviews in the future.
