4-H Tidelands Nature Center
Tidelands Nature Center offers hands-on marine environmental science programs for the general public and school groups, kayak tours, and live animal exhibits.
Come meet a sea turtle, explore our touch tanks, and observe live alligators, snakes, fish, crabs and many other animals native to Georgia's coast in our exhibit gallery.
Take a guided kayak tour of Jekyll's salt marsh ecosystem.
Rent a canoe or paddleboat and enjoy fishing or a relaxing paddle on the pristine salt pond, adjacent to Tidelands.
Nature walks and other special programs for families and for school and scout groups are available throughout the year. Learn about Jekyll's coastal ecosystems with one of our guides as you explore Jekyll's beach, forest and marsh.
The 4-H Tidelands Nature Center is a University of Georgia 4-H Program. In addition to summer programs, Tidelands offers nature walks at various locations around the island, kayak tours in the salt marsh, school group coastal ecology programs, as well as our exhibit area open to the public, featuring live coastal species including sea turtles, fish, touch tanks, horseshoe crabs, snakes, alligators, and more! Tidelands is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Admission price: $4.00 per person.
