Burton 4-H Center: Environmental Education

Homeschool Club

New February 23, 2017 Class

Join us for a special homeschool Shark Dissection Class on Thursday, February 23rd from 10am - noon.

Cost is $13 per child.  This is a drop-off event, so parents are not required to stay.  Any parents or siblings that do stay and watch the class will need to also pay the $13.

This class is intended for late elementary - middle school aged children between the ages of 10 and 14.

Class Summary:
Learn from our staff who are passionate about the ocean and wildlife and great with kids.  This class will include an introduction to shark anatomy and their unique adaptations followed by hands-on dissection time. Our staff will closely monitor the students and guide them with step-by-step instructions and explanations.  We are expecting this will be a group of kids who mostly do not know each other.  We will be mindful of that and also utilize this time to help foster making some new friends.

Total charge is $80 for the 8 classes.   You must pay the full amount even if you know you will miss a class.  There are no makeup classes.  Parents and siblings younger than 4 years old are not charged.  To sign up you must complete the online registration form and mail a check for $80 per child to the address below.  Classes will fill quickly and then you will be put on a waiting list.  Your money will be refunded if you are put on the waiting list and do not join the class.

Parents attend class with their child (this is not a drop off class).  If you have children in different age groups, you may choose which group to go with or switch between the two.  Most of the time different groups will stay close to each other and be taking the same class on the same day.  You may also request that all of your children stay in the same group.

Each age group is limited to a maximum of 15 children.
