Principles of Turfgrass Management

Whether you are new to the lawn care field or an "old timer," this course will help you to become a safer and a more efficient professional. Your customers will notice improvements in service, and you will get more satisfaction out of your work. This course is designed and developed by the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education in association with the Professional Lawn Care Association of America (PLCAA). For more than 40 years, the Georgia Center has specialized in helping adults meet their educational needs. Working together, the Georgia Center and PLCAA created a home study course that is accurate and easy to use. Successful completion of this course will lead you to being named a Certified Turfgrass Professional.

Turfgrass Field Day

Every two years the University of Georgia Griffin Campus hosts the UGA Turfgrass Field Day. This is a very popular event and traditionally drawing more than 800 particapants.

The field day primarily attracts professionals from the turfgrass industry - landscape professionals, golf course superintendent’s, sod producers and the like. But homeowners can garner useful information at the turfgrass field day, too. Homeowners will come away from the day overloaded with useful information.

Field days like this one are designed as educational outreach efforts and this one focuses on improving knowledge of turfgrass practices. Our goal is to educate the public on how to manage their turfgrass, whether it’s on a golf course, park or front lawn, while positively impacting the environment.
