Griffin Campus: Departments

Bledsoe FarmField Research Services

Field Research Services has existed as a departmental unit since June 1988. The Field Research Services’ responsibilities are as follows:

  • provide land and support to the research staff,
  • dispose of surplus quantities of crops, and
  • maintain the appearances of the main campus and farm areas.

Lands of the UGA, Griffin Campus are located in Pike and Spalding Counties and comprise approximately 1170 acres. The Bledsoe and Beckham Research Farms are located in Pike County, while the Main Campus, Dempsey Farm, Research and Education Garden and Westbrook Farm are located in Spalding County. This unit supports research work from the academic departments of Crop and Soil Sciences, Entomology, Horticulture, and Plant Pathology.
